Job summary

Maryland Court Reporters seeks a Talent and Development Specialist to advance HR initiatives within the U.S. House environment.

The role partners with Members, Committees, and Leadership to recruit, hire, develop, promote, retain, and engage staff, leveraging consultative HR practices and data-driven insights. You will update the HR Hub, manage the New Member Resume Bank, and collaborate with external partners to strengthen congressional talent pipelines while upholding privacy and professional

Qualifications

• Experience applying HR best practices for recruitment and staff development.
• Experience building relationships with Members, leadership, and staff.
• Strong customer service and consultative experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of House operations and legislative environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as talent and development expert to advise on recruitment, hiring, development, promotion, retention, and engagement of staff.
• Assist in developing talent acquisition strategies for diverse candidates for House offices.
• Update and enhance the HR Hub with best practice tools and resources.
• Analyze information to inform organizational decisions and recommend improvements.
• Build relationships with Members, Chiefs of Staff, staff, educational institutions, and professional groups to strengthen talent pipelines.
• Manage the House Employment Bulletin and other recruiting sources.
• Build and manage the New Member Resume Bank during Congressional transitions.
• Promote programs and services at events and outreach activities.
• Ensure programs are delivered efficiently and effectively.
• Contribute to special projects and after-action reviews; implement improvements.
• Promote and uphold workplace safety, ethics, and integrity; ensure privacy compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
