Job summary

State of Maryland's Department of Budget and Management, Recruitment and Examination Division, is seeking a Talent Acquisition Trainee to support statewide recruitment and selection efforts. The role focuses on learning recruitment processes, stakeholder communication, and data-driven advertising decisions across Maryland agencies.

The position is entry-level, located in Baltimore with possible hybrid schedule, and reports to the Recruitment and Examination Division within DBM.

Qualifications

• One year of paraprofessional personnel work experience in the public sector.
• Experience applying personnel rules and regulations to employment actions; maintaining records; salary calculations; preparing reports; orienting employees and answering benefits inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Learn to review and approve agency recruitment plans, create postings, review and rate applications, and create certified eligible lists.
• Learn to respond to inquiries from applicants and agency HR staff via calls, tickets, and email.
• Learn to source candidates using LinkedIn and Handshake for hard-to-fill positions.
• Learn to maintain an advertising database and manage online job board accounts for agency recruiting.
• Learn to analyze data on online postings and make advertising recommendations based on findings.
• Learn to work with Outreach lead to identify recruitment events and update recruitment materials.
