Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support recruiting activities, screen candidates, and coordinate interviews.

This on-site role at AOI’s Sugar Land campus requires an organized, responsive professional who can manage a high volume of candidates while delivering a positive candidate experience. The role collaborates with recruiters, hiring managers, and HR, ensuring candidates move smoothly through the process.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or related field.
• 1+ year of experience in recruiting, HR coordination, staffing, customer service, or similar environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional with candidates by phone, email, video, or in person.
• Ability to conduct structured candidate screenings and evaluate against established job requirements.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with multi-priority ability.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Review resumes and applications to identify candidates who meet minimum qualifications.
• Conduct initial phone or virtual screenings with prospective candidates.
• Coordinate interview scheduling between candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers.
• Provide candidates with information about the position, environment, schedule, and process.
• Maintain accurate candidate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
• Assist with job postings, candidate sourcing, and recruitment events.
