Job summary

Sentara Health in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist for a flex position to cover planned and unplanned absences. You will manage full-cycle recruitment across assigned business areas, partner with hiring managers, build candidate pipelines, and ensure a positive experience for candidates and leaders.

This role supports multiple business units, travel may be required within Virginia and North Carolina, and base pay ranges from $68,598 to $103,397 annually.

Qualifications

• Two years HR experience with a bachelor's degree or four years with a high school diploma/GED.
• 3–5 years recruiting experience preferred, healthcare recruiting preferred.
• Experience supporting high-volume recruitment and hard-to-fill positions.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for positions across assigned business areas.
• Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to identify current and future hiring needs.
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to attract diverse, high-quality candidates.

• Support workforce planning efforts, recruitment strategy development, and process improvement initiatives.
• Lead or participate in talent acquisition projects as assigned.
• Attend recruitment events and represent Sentara at talent attraction initiatives across Virginia and North Carolina.

Position Overview

This is a flex position with no benefits. This role is designed to provide recruiting coverage across the Talent Acquisition team during planned and unplanned absences, including paid time off, medical leave, and long-term disability coverage. The position offers an opportunity to support a variety of business units and recruitment functions while delivering a seamless experience for hiring leaders and candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for positions across assigned business areas.
• Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to identify current and future hiring needs.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

Experience

• Two (2) years of Human Resources experience with a bachelor's degree, or four (4) years of equivalent experience with a High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three to five (3-5) years of recruiting experience strongly preferred.
• Healthcare recruiting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting high-volume recruitment and hard-to-fill positions preferred.
• Demonstrated sourcing experience required.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to travel and participate in recruitment and Talent Acquisition events throughout Virginia and North Carolina.
• Flexibility to support a variety of recruitment functions and business units based on organizational needs.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $68,598.40 - $103,396.80 annually.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
