American Commercial Barge Line is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist who will partner with hiring managers to fill vessel and shoreside hourly roles. You will source candidates, coordinate recruiting events, and lead the interview process to attract top talent across our operational and support teams.

The role emphasizes building a diverse pipeline, staying current with recruiting trends, and representing ACBL at community and industry events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, communications, business management, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment methods and tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with ATS and HR software.

What you will be doing... Your IMPACT

• Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
• Utilize a variety of sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, referrals, and networking, to identify potential candidates.
• Create, coordinate, and lead recruiting events within targeted hiring territories.
• Represent the company at recruiting, career, community, and industry events to attract talent, build candidate pipelines, and educate prospective candidates about career opportunities.
• Conduct interviews and assessments to identify the best candidates for our company.
• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for our high-volume vessel and shoreside hourly positions, from attraction, sourcing to onboarding.
• Play a crucial role in shaping ACBL's talent acquisition strategy and fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition.
• Build and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.

What we are looking for...

You will need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communication, Business Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment methods and tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software.
• A passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Previous experience in staffing and sales or maritime industry.
