Job summary

PUC National is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to manage full-cycle recruitment for educators and staff across NE Los Angeles and NE San Fernando Valley. You will partner with hiring managers, build strong candidate pipelines, screen candidates, and extend offers using Paycom.

This role emphasizes mission alignment, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, and helping a nonprofit grow top talent in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in HR recruitment or related field.
  • Experience with Paycom or ATS is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with hiring managers, candidates, and team members to drive recruitment.
  • Partner with managers to identify requirements and set recruitment strategies for open positions.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment from sourcing to offer, including teachers and administrators.
  • Screen candidates via resume reviews, phone/web interviews, and coordinate interview schedules.
  • Extend offers and manage pre-employment steps using the HRIS.
  • Write and refine job descriptions and postings; maintain candidate records in the ATS.

Organization OverviewPUC National is a non-profit organization that serves to promote, support, benefit, replicate, and carry out the purposes and mission of Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC Schools).We have a contractual relationship with Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC Schools) to provide a variety of support services to the schools in NE Los Angeles and the NE San Fernando Valley. This includes, but are not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Operations, IT and Data Management, facilities identification and acquisition, fundraising, grant management, college access, alumni relations, charter development and renewal, and compliance.The Team Member we are searching forThe ideal Talent Acquisition Specialist demonstrates the ability to manage the full-cycle recruitment function effectively and efficiently, from consulting with hiring managers and determining current and future talent needs, to making offers of employment, and everything in between. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be a subject matter expert on sourcing and talent acquisition. We are highly motivated by the challenge and success of hiring top talent.What you’ll need to accomplish:Develop and maintain excellent relationships with hiring managers, candidates, and team members to efficiently drive the recruitment process and produce results.Partner with hiring managers to identify key requirements and set recruitment strategies for all open positions.Provide superior customer service to candidates and internal and external customers throughout the recruitment process; ensure all verbal and written communications are accurate, clear, concise, and professional.Manage full-cycle recruitment to include sourcing, screening, and placement of all positions within all PUC entities such as teachers, administrators, and classified positions.Develop effective sourcing strategies to build pipelines for top-tier talent and attract passive candidates. Partner with all levels of the organization (e.g., Supervisors, Managers, Directors) to assess staffing needs and fill positions in a timely manner.Screen qualified candidates through resume reviews and phone/web-based interviews.Coordinate and schedule candidate interview appointments. Conduct interviews with job candidates using phone, in-person, and web-based interview methods to effectively and efficiently qualify each candidate.Identify and recommend candidates for final interviews.Provide regular updates to Recruiting Manager and Hiring Managers on recruiting status of open requisitions.Extend offers of employment to candidates who have been approved and complete the hiring process using the human resources information system.Conduct professional reference checks and forward to appropriate parties; utilize the human resources information system to submit candidates for approval.Manage the pre-employment process steps for job candidates.Work closely with hiring managers to create or refine job descriptions and identify target candidates. Write, edit, and update job announcements/advertisements.Utilize the applicant tracking system (Paycom) to document all recruitment activities.What do we require from you?Minimum QualificationsDeep commitment to PUC’s missionEducation: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, related field, or equivalent training and experience requiredExperience: Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in HR Recruitment or other related fieldsPreferred ExperiencePrevious experience in recruitment, selection, admissions, or other human capital work; full-cycle recruitment and hiring preferred; Charter School experience preferredExperience K-12 education reform, schools district, or educational non-profit desiredExperience with Paycom or other Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)Skills and AbilitiesProficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookKnowledge of effective use of search engines, job sites, social networks, and other toolsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Relationship-building skills to inspire top educators to join PUCAlignment with core characteristics required of every PUC employee: the pursuit of excellence, innovation, community, tenacity, and authenticityMust be flexible and team-orientedAble to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentStrong eye for talent in the education sectorWillingness and ability to travel to school sitesBilingual in Spanish preferredStrong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of workCompensation & BenefitsThe is a full-time exempt, salaried positionOur benefits include:Comprehensive group health benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision and additional voluntary benefits403b Retirement Plan with an annual contribution equal to 5%Paid Time OffOngoing Professional Development
