PUC Schools in the North-East Los Angeles and North-East San Fernando Valley seeks a dedicated teacher to promote college readiness and high student achievement. The ideal candidate will implement rigorous lesson plans, maintain engaging classroom systems, and communicate with families weekly.

The role requires California credential eligibility, knowledge of state standards, strong collaboration with Inclusion Specialist, and a commitment to equity and student success in a diverse urban setting.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Preliminary or Clear Single Subject or Multiple Subject Credential, or University Internship Credential eligible.
• Satisfy Basic Skills Requirement (CBEST, SAT, ACT, etc.).
• Satisfy Basic Skills Requirement (met through coursework and/or testing).
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Build professional knowledge and develop lesson plans.
• Organize classroom systems and manage student behavior to keep all students engaged.
• Develop and maintain IATs (lesson plans) aligned to California state standards.
• Prepare lesson plans for substitute teacher and communicate with parents weekly.
• Collaborate with the Inclusion Specialist to meet diverse student needs.
• Attend Academic Success Team, Parent/Teacher Advisory Council and other school meetings.
• Perform disseminated leadership duties and participate in professional development.

Organization OverviewPartnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is comprised of a non-profit network of public charter schools designed to significantly increase high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North-East Los Angeles, and the North-East San Fernando Valley.Our mission at PUC Schools is to develop and manage high-quality charter schools in densely populated urban communities with overcrowded and low-achieving schools.
