Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Talent Acquisition Operations Risk Lead to drive governance, compliance, and risk management for pre-employment processes. You will lead a cross-functional team, partner with HR, Legal, Compliance, and Security, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

The role focuses on continuous improvement of background screening, drug testing, offers, and hire eligibility, with data-driven insights and executive reporting to guide strategic hiring decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience in Talent Acquisition Operations, HR Compliance, Risk Management, Employment Compliance, or a related field.
• Experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders within a complex, highly regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of pre-employment compliance, employment regulations, risk management principles, and governance practices.
• Experience with ServiceNow, Background Check Vendors, ATS, and reporting platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, assess business and compliance risks, and make sound business decisions.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including trend analysis, performance metrics, dashboard development, and executive reporting.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance and continuous improvement of pre-employment compliance programs (offers, background screening, drug testing, hire eligibility).
• Provide leadership to a team of associates supporting high-volume compliance operations and risk management.
• Serve as enterprise SME for hiring compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation.
• Lead governance and resolution of complex, high-risk pre-employment matters with sound judgment.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen policies, controls, and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments and recommend enhancements to hiring practices and processes.
• Drive audit readiness and oversee responses to regulatory inquiries and reviews.
• Leverage data to identify trends, assess risk, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
