Job summary

High Tech High in San Diego area seeks an HR Specialist focused on recruiting to join the Central Management Team on campus. The role supports onboarding, benefits management, and leave administration for staff, collaborating with hiring managers and departments to optimize hiring and onboarding experiences.

The position is on-site, exempt, full-time, with duties spanning degree verification, I-9, open enrollment, and health benefits, under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree with three years related experience may substitute
• 2 years of experience in Human Resources
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with spreadsheets
• Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
• Knowledge of California leave laws and CA labor regulations for exempt/non-exempt employees

Responsibilities

• Serve as a main onboarding contact for new hires and employees
• Coordinate and manage leaves of absence and benefits
• Oversee applicant tracking and determine salary placement for offers
• Partner with hiring managers to optimize the recruitment process
• Ensure onboarding documents and compliance with employment regulations
