Job summary

High Tech High is seeking an HR Specialist with a recruiting focus to partner with hiring managers and implement an ATS system on campus in San Diego. The role centers on onboarding, benefits administration, and leaves of absence, reporting to the Director of Human Resources on the Central Management Team.

The ideal candidate brings 2 years in HR, familiarity with California benefit and leave policies, strong communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Human Resources
• School payroll experience a plus
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with spreadsheets
• Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
• Keen attention to detail with data integrity
• Ability to work under pressure
• Fast-paced environment experience
• Team-oriented and independent work capability
• Results-driven with professionalism
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic knowledge of benefit administration
• Basic knowledge of California leave of absences
• Understanding of CA labor laws as they relate to exempt/non-exempt
• Self-motivated
• Bilingual a plus

Responsibilities

• Onboard new staff and manage onboarding processes.
• Coordinate and manage employee leave of absences.
• Oversee workers’ compensation injury reporting and management.
• Evaluate degrees, transcripts, and employment verifications.
• Manage job postings and comply with regulations.
• Administer health benefits enrollment and renewals.
• Serve as a liaison with hiring managers and departments.
