Job summary

Allentown Parking Authority is seeking a detail‑oriented Human Resources Assistant specializing in recruitment to join our HR team. The ideal candidate will oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, coordinate hiring activities, and support efforts to attract and onboard qualified candidates.

This role reports to the Human Resources Manager and contributes to employee relations, training, and compliance. The organization is a non‑profit municipal Authority in Allentown, PA, managing parking

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience conducting full life cycle recruiting.
• Associates degree or degree in Human Resources and/or Business preferred, or relevant experience.
• Advanced PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)
• Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
• Prior experience with HRIS; Paylocity preferred
• Individual must be flexible, self-starter, team oriented, and capable of multi‑tasking.

Responsibilities

• Handle the recruitment process for all open positions, including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, background checks, extending offers and onboarding.
• Organize hiring events by planning activities, handling event details and representing the organization to attract qualified candidates.
• Assist in employee relations, where applicable.
• Assist in identifying employee training needs and coordinate logistics and deliver training sessions.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and maintain employee records and HR documentation.
