Job summary

Capstone Copper seeks a Supervisor – Tailings and Water at Pinto Valley, located near Globe-Miami, AZ. The role leads tailings deposition and water systems with safety and regulatory compliance, coordinating with engineering and contractors.

The position emphasizes field leadership, planning, and cross-functional collaboration to meet schedules and budgets while maintaining high safety standards in a mining environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of combined supervision, maintenance, construction management, project management, and/or safety experience in mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of tailings operations, water management systems, and pump house operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead crews and contractors in field-based settings.
• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills; ability to handle confidential information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Compliance: enforce MSHA regulations and site safety standards; lead safety discussions.
• Operational Oversight: monitor tailings deposition and water system activities per plans.
• Pump House & Water Systems: maintain knowledge of pump house operations and water management.
• Planning & Coordination: develop TSF deposition plans with engineering; coordinate with stakeholders.
• Project Execution: set timelines for readiness and field work; address bottlenecks.
• Incident Management: investigate, document, and report incidents.
• Team Leadership: supervise, coach, and develop staff; communicate performance expectations.
• Contractor Management: oversee contractor activities to uphold safety and quality.
• Continuous Improvement: promote accountability and operational excellence.
