Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. operates the Henderson mine and mill near Denver, CO, seeking a supervisor to lead a work unit for safe and efficient production. You will oversee staff, implement plans, evaluate performance, manage resources, and uphold safety and quality standards on site.

The role requires supervisory experience, a mining-related degree or equivalent, and a commitment to safety. On-site workers are eligible for a housing allowance and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with five years of related operational experience including supervisory or lead experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical mining related discipline with at least one summer internship in mining or industrial environments.
• Additional certifications or licensure may be required.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
• Budget preparation, monitoring and administration.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, supervises, coordinates and controls the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit.
• Assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of staff for assigned work unit.
• Implements production plans according to approved schedule.
• May participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult.
• Inspects and evaluates work in progress, identifies problems and directs remedial action.
• Conducts performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
• Prepares estimates of staffing, materials and equipment for projected activities.
• Maintains inventory of parts and materials; approves purchases; maintains usage reports.
• Trains staff in safety procedures; maintains safety data sheets for crews.
