Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti North America Inc. is offering a 12-week Mining Engineering Intern position in Las Vegas, NV or Denver, CO. You will work with the Mine Planning and Operations teams on a core technical project from start to finish, culminating in a presentation to technical leadership.

This hands-on internship emphasizes practical mining deliverables, including short- and long-range plans, data analysis, and production tracking with mentorship and real project ownership.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate program or final-year Master’s/PhD in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of open-pit or underground mining and mine planning.
• Interest in mine planning software such as Vulcan, Deswik, or Hexagon is a plus.
• Strong writing, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own a dedicated 12-week project from start to finish with final report and presentation.
• Review and develop mine plans, scheduling, and drill & blast designs.
• Support trade-off studies, haulage optimizations, and equipment sizing evaluations.
• Assist in data analysis and production tracking as part of continuous improvement.
