The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides crucial patient care and collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure quality treatment. The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides direct and indirect patient care. He/She applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. The Registered Nurse must possess good communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate with physicians, peers, patients, and families. He/She works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure quality care is delivered.
Essential Functions
Minimum Education
Must possess an active TN RN license or a compact state license with the intent to obtain a TN RN license within 30 days of hire.
Required Skills
Must have current BLS/CPR certification within 12 months of hire.
Must obtain ACLS within 12 months of hire.
PALS within 12 months of hire.
HWC within 12 months of hire.
