Job summary

Toast seeks a Principal TA Systems Architect to own and advance our TA tech stack across Greenhouse, GoodTime, and BrightHire. You’ll integrate TA systems with the broader People stack, enforce privacy and compliance, and drive roadmaps with recruiters and TA leadership.

This individual contributor role has a path to leading a small team as the function scales. You’ll partner with People Systems, IT, Legal, and Procurement to ensure secure, scalable data flows and robust change management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in HR or TA systems with hands-on ownership of an ATS at scale.
• Experience gathering requirements and delivering technical solutions.
• Deep admin expertise in at least one core recruiting platform.
• Strong REST API, webhooks, JSON, and middleware tooling experience.
• Experience integrating ATS with HRIS (Workday, UKG) and downstream data flows.
• Vendor management including renewals and escalations.
• Excellent partnership skills with non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of EEOC/OFCCP, GDPR/CCPA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own the TA tech stack: configure, secure, and manage Greenhouse, GoodTime, and BrightHire.
• Manage integrations between TA systems and the People stack (HRIS, background checks, assessments, sourcing, offers).
• Triage system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and communicate fixes.
• Lead change management: testing, documentation, release notes, user communications.
• Roadmap TA systems with recruiters, sourcers, and TA leadership to reduce manual work.
• Ensure data flows and privacy acrossPeople Systems, IT, Security, and Legal.
• Build multi-quarter TA systems roadmap and evaluate new tooling with rigor.
• Manage vendor relationships, renewals, and support escalations.
• Aid in renewals and purchases with Procurement and Finance using data-driven business cases.
• Document architecture, integrations, and runbooks to prevent single-point knowledge.
