Job summary

Exelon in Illinois seeks a Senior Manager to lead the T&S Relay Engineering organization, directing engineering staff and ensuring adherence to EED standards. The role emphasizes strategic leadership, budget management, and development of a high-performance culture.

You will oversee design, testing support, and continuous improvement across substation relay projects, coordinating with internal and contracted engineers to meet safety, reliability and performance goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 8–10 years design experience, or 12 years design experience without a degree.
• Valid driver's license.
• Understanding of transmission and substation components and systems.
• Proven leadership and strong communication and change-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design for substation relay projects and support testing.
• Lead short- and long-term strategic and labor initiatives to ensure safety and performance goals.
• Manage budget, priorities, and resource utilization for the team.
• Develop and mentor the Design team; conduct performance appraisals.
• Develop engineering documents and ensure compliance with EED standards.
• Coordinate with contracted engineering to maintain design quality.
