Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Test and Evaluation Systems Engineer to help conceive, define, and evaluate system-of-system requirements for operational defense applications.

You will lead live test events, design comprehensive test plans, analyze complex data, and ensure V&V integration across the full systems engineering lifecycle. US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance are required.

Qualifications

BS in systems engineering, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related technical degree.
3+ years of professional experience in systems engineering focusing on test and evaluation.
Knowledge of full lifecycle systems engineering processes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to coordinate across multiple concurrent projects and travel periodically.
Willing and able to obtain Interim Secret clearance; ultimately Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Lead and participate in live test events at various facilities, contractor sites, and field locations to evaluate system capabilities.
Design and author test plans, procedures, and requirements to validate system performance against specifications.
Analyze complex test data to identify anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and provide technical recommendations.
Ensure rigorous Verification and Validation activities are integrated into every stage of development.
