Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Systems Engineering Test and Evaluation Intern to contribute to flight test mission planning and analysis. You will gain hands-on experience across subsystems, dynamics, and orbital mechanics while supporting tool development in MATLAB and related scripting environments.

As an intern, you will engage in feasibility assessments, safety analyses, and COLA studies, working within a team of technical specialists addressing

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Background or knowledge in MATLAB or other scripting language.

Responsibilities

  • Learn how a flight test mission goes from concept to a layered scenario.
  • Develop tools and perform analysis in MATLAB and related environments.
  • Assist in test asset optimization, trajectory design, safety analysis, and COLA assessments.
