The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Senior Weapons Systems Test Engineer to lead test planning and execution for advanced strike weapon systems.

You will provide systems test engineering expertise across development, guide test strategy, and coordinate field tests with travel 15-20%. Clearance eligibility (SAP and Top Secret/SCI) is required. Work with government sponsors and industry partners in a dynamic defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of systems test engineering in weapons/missile development and testing.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel 15-20% to sponsor, contractor, and test sites.
• Must be able to obtain SAP and Top Secret/SCI clearances.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary teams across sponsors, labs, and partners on requirements, development, and testing.
• Develop and maintain test strategy and objectives for ground and flight tests and simulations.
• Plan, execute, and report test activities to verify advanced strike weapon systems.
• Evaluate test results, identify root causes, and propose design or test improvements.
• Deliver formal presentations and reports to sponsors and stakeholders.
