Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a Project Planning Engineer to develop long-term maintenance and investment project plans for inclusion in the capital budget in AES's US Transmission and Distribution operations in Indiana and Ohio. Under general supervision, you will define scope, estimate costs, and schedule assigned projects including capital investments like asset replacements and Smart Grid initiatives.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or related field.
• Professional Engineering License, or Project Management Professional Certification are a plus.
• Experience – 0-5 years in capital project and/or portfolio management.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 tools; SAP and Copperleaf C55 experience are a plus.
• Demonstrated project management experience in leading projects through the development process including building scope, estimate, and schedule documents.
• Understanding of the regulated T&D utility business, assets, and systems; Smart Grid, DER integration a plus.
• Languages – English. Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create scope of work documents, cost estimates, and schedules for assigned projects engaging engineering and other SME’s as required.
• Build the project business case using reliability, integrated system planning, and other inputs.
• Provide bid specifications to Supply Chain in accordance with the procurement process.
• Compile detailed work plans for the Project Management Organization, Engineering, and Operations teams to execute.
• Utilize Management of Change and Asset Governance processes for controlling the modification of equipment, systems, and processes.
• Serve as a representative of the Company as assigned.
