Job summary

AES is seeking a Project Planning Engineer for its US Transmission and Distribution teams in Indiana and Ohio. The role develops long-term maintenance and investment plans for the capital budget, including scope, estimates, and schedules for capital investments and grid modernization.

You will build business cases, provide bid specifications, and coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure project success. Strong PM and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or related field.
• Experience – 0-5 years in capital project and/or portfolio management.
• Professional Engineering License or PMP certification is a plus.
• Experience with SAP and Copperleaf C55 is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create scope of work documents, cost estimates, and schedules for assigned projects with engineering input.
• Build the project business case using reliability, planning, and other inputs.
• Provide bid specifications to Supply Chain per procurement process.
• Compile detailed work plans for PMO, Engineering, and Operations teams.
• Use change control and asset governance processes to manage modifications.
