Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a Planning Engineer to join our team in Indiana. You will develop long-term maintenance and capital investment plans for thermal and renewable generation sites across the U.S., focusing on labor/material specs, budgets, and procurement support.

This role requires strong collaboration with operations, maintenance, and supply chain, with responsibilities ranging from budget development to bid reviews and ensuring safety and cost control across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of experience.
• Experience in Thermal and Renewable Electric Utility and Power Generation.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite; SAP and GE APM helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on mechanical/electrical generation equipment during outages to support operations and planning.
• Create scope, justification, cost estimates and budgets for maintenance, upgrades and asset replacement.
• Prepare estimates, drawings, material specs and procurement documents.
• Ensure safety and cost control across projects and coordinate with Supply Chain.
