Job summary

AFL is seeking an Applications Engineer to provide field and technical support for Transmission & Distribution conductor accessories. You will lead product demonstrations, train customers, and support installation issues across AFL’s product lines.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in the electric power industry, a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, and the ability to travel up to 50% domestically. The role offers a hybrid schedule, primarily supporting utility projects and standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5+ years in the electric power industry with exposure to transmission/distribution systems.
• Demonstrated ability to train and present to customers, EPCs, and contractors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; translate technical content for field crews and executives.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Represent AFL at customer sites, training events, and industry conferences with up to 50% domestic travel.
• Provide pre- and post-sale technical support to utility customers, EPCs, contractors, and AFL sales teams.
• Conduct product demonstrations and technical training for utility engineers, customers, and sales teams.
• Serve as the technical resource for Field Engineers on installation issues and field troubleshooting.
• Present at industry forums as AFL's subject matter expert in Transmission & Distribution conductor accessories.
