Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2 years (Level 2) or Master’s with no experience; or Bachelor’s with 5 years (Level 3).
• Experience with launch vehicle or similar system design, testing, or operation.
• Knowledge of the systems engineering discipline and its application to system safety.
• Knowledge of RCC-319, RCC-324, SSCMAN 91-710, and MIL-STD-882.

Responsibilities

• Work with a small team of System Safety engineers to define and verify safety requirements.
• Apply systems engineering to launch vehicle and ground support equipment to ensure safe ops.
• Understand mission scope, including launch vehicle, payload, range, and safety interfaces.
• Interact with internal and external customers and partners on safety topics.
• Support design, development, and testing to meet safety and mission goals.
• Review safety documents and determine cost-effective safety measures.
