Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer Lead at Level 3 or Level 4 to guide a small team in defining, implementing, and verifying safety requirements for launch vehicle programs in Chandler, AZ. On-site role with opportunities to influence safety across design, build, test and operations.

Applicants must hold a STEM degree with multiple years of related experience and may require a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related engineering experience; or Master’s with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year (Level 3).
• Bachelor’s with 8 years for Level 4; Master’s with 6 years; or PhD with 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of System Safety engineers to define and verify System Safety requirements.
• Define and verify launch vehicle safety requirements for safe operations and risk mitigation.
• Interface with internal/external customers and stakeholders on system safety topics.
• Support design and development to meet safety, mission success and performance goals.
• Analyze and explain safety criteria across design, build, and test.
