Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a System Realization and Resilience Engineering Intern to support specialty engineering domains and DE/MBSE implementation on strategic deterrent systems. You will assist in realizing resilient architectures and contributing to credible verification activities in a national defense context.

The role offers exposure to MBSE tools (Cameo/Magic Draw, DOORS), model-based approaches, and collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Cybersecurity or related technical field.
  • Interest in Systems Engineering, Specialty Systems Engineering, or MBSE/DE Implementation.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Eligible for Interim Secret clearance with potential to obtain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Work on teams to support systems engineering activities with emphasis on specialty engineering to inform realization and resiliency of strategic deterrent systems.
  • Learn to apply MBSE and DE tools for development and evaluation of complex strategic deterrent systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Participate in systems engineering technical reviews, working groups, and technical exchange meetings; provide recommendations to inform technical direction to program sponsors.
  • Gain systems engineering experience on real-world systems.
