Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Field Support Engineer - TS/SCI FSP for a leading government technology and infrastructure organization in the Annapolis Junction, Maryland area. This fully onsite role requires 5 days per week on site to provide hands-on support for Oracle and Sun hardware in mission-critical environments.

The ideal candidate will hold an active TS/SCI clearance with FSP, 5+ years of Oracle/Sun experience, and strong Linux/UNIX skills.

Responsibilities

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Field Support Engineer - TS/SCI FSP for a leading government technology and infrastructure organization in the Annapolis Junction, Maryland area. The Systems Field Support Engineer - TS/SCI FSP role is a fully onsite position requiring 5 days per week onsite. The Systems Field Support Engineer will provide hands‑on support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Oracle and Sun hardware, firmware, and software platforms supporting mission‑critical environments. An ideal candidate for the Systems Field Support Engineer role is an experienced systems professional with deep expertise in Oracle/Sun technologies and an active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities of the Systems Field Support Engineer:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex Oracle and Sun systems hardware, firmware, and software issues in classified production environments.
• Perform installation, maintenance, upgrades, and break/fix support for Oracle/Sun servers, storage systems, and related infrastructure.
• Analyze system logs, hardware diagnostics, and performance metrics to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, network, and operations teams to ensure system availability, reliability, and security compliance.
• Support system patching, firmware updates, and lifecycle management activities while maintaining operational continuity.

Qualifications of the Systems Field Support Engineer:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) required.
• 5+ years of experience supporting Oracle and Sun systems in enterprise or government environments.
• Strong expertise troubleshooting Oracle/Sun hardware, firmware, operating systems, and storage platforms.
• Experience with system administration, performance tuning, and infrastructure support within Linux/UNIX environments.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and customer support skills with the ability to work independently onsite.

Compensation for the Systems Field Support Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $100,000 - $170,000 depending on experience
