Job summary

RTX invites students to join our aerospace and defense teams as interns or co-ops in Tucson, AZ. You will collaborate with engineers to plan tests, integrate hardware and software, and analyze results on real-world platforms while preparing documentation for design reviews and test events.

Ideal candidates are pursuing STEM degrees, with hands-on electronics testing and troubleshooting experience. Onsite work, travel for missions, and security clearance eligibility are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-ops session.
• Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-ops session.
• Academic or internship experience that included hands-on testing of electronic equipment
• Experience in troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform Test Planning: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing.
• Integrate Systems: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact. Evaluate test results for requirements compliance. Create/modify documentation in support of design reviews and in preparation for test events.
• Perform Platform Integration, Flight Test, Qualification, Design Verification Execution
• Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
• Perform Data Analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
• Support Missions: Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.

• Experience troubleshooting systems using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and/or spectrum analyzers
• Experience with using telemetry data collection equipment to capture real time data and/or real time monitoring
• Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols
• Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred
• Experience with instrumentation and collection of large data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to data collection and analysis

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
