Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Department Manager 3 to lead a department in Roy, UT or Manhattan Beach, CA. You will mentor section managers and oversee the people, processes, and tools across multiple programs to ensure program success.

You'll drive planning, risk management, schedule adherence, and technical quality while coordinating with senior leadership to sustain health and top performance across the division.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 8+ years of related experience, or a Master’s with 6+ years.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance with program access.
• US Citizenship with active Secret clearance or equivalent.
• Experience with DOORS, CAMEO, SysML and MBSE concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Systems Engineering department and mentor section managers.
• Oversee planning, risk, schedule, and technical quality across programs.
• Coordinate with multiple business areas (Sentinel/GBSD, ICBM Sustainment, Advanced Programs).
• Support proposals, technical reviews, audits, and program standups.
• Drive talent development and engineering change coordination.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 8+ years experience or Master's with 6+ years

Master's Degree in STEM (Engineering preferred)

Experience in requirements development/management

Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
