Job summary

Velocity1 is seeking a Systems Engineer to deliver deployments, upgrades, and migrations with strong Tier 2 support. You will follow documented standards, perform thorough validation, and provide clear handoffs and status updates to customers.

The role requires excellent communication, collaboration with senior and escalation engineers, and adherence to change management and documentation practices to enable long-term maintainability. Some travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT support/implementation experience (MSP experience preferred).
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting (VLANs, subnetting, DHCP/DNS).
• Experience implementing and supporting Windows Server environments and/or virtualization platforms.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration (core admin centers and basic troubleshooting).
• Strong documentation habits and ability to follow and maintain standards.
• Professional customer communication and teamwork mindset.
• U.S. citizenship required to support certain regulated customers and environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned deployments, refreshes, upgrades, and migrations.
• Provide strong Tier 2-level support as needed.
• Follow documented standards and change discipline; communicate scope, risks and dependencies.
• Produce thorough as-built documentation for long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate with senior and escalation engineers to ensure early issue escalation and lessons learned.
