Job summary

Veeco Instruments is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering Group in California to drive development of next-generation semiconductor equipment platforms, including high vacuum systems.

You will collaborate across engineering teams, perform data analysis, and participate in prototype testing. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required; travel up to 20% may be international or domestic.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 2+ years in electrical systems, controls, instrumentation or test engineering.
• Experience with electrical design, troubleshooting, data acquisition, control systems, and 2D CAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support development of technologies for semiconductor equipment systems including Ion Beam Deposition and Etch.
• Build, test, troubleshoot, and generate testing reports for high vacuum process equipment.
• Develop concepts and drive design and testing of new components/sub-systems across product lines.
• Determine system/component specifications and input/output processes for hardware/software compatibility.
• Perform advanced data and statistical analysis to study output signals and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with mechanical/electrical engineering, marketing, field support, and supply chain groups.
• Work with process development to evaluate prototypes and assess performance.
• Use problem-solving methods to break down complex problems and document results.
• Assist in marathon testing and beta-site testing at system/sub-system level and analyze field performance.
• Travel up to 20% internationally and domestically.
