Job summary

RJ Young is seeking a Systems Engineer to deliver planned technical work, deployments, refreshes, upgrades, and migrations, with strong Tier 2 support as needed. You will follow documented standards, communicate scope and risks, and produce thorough as‑built documentation for long-term maintainability.

You will work closely with senior and escalation engineers, provide clear status updates to customers, and participate in continuous improvement of processes, checklists, and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT support/implementation experience.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting (VLANs, subnetting).
• Experience implementing and supporting Windows Server environments and/or virtualization platforms.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration (core admin centers and basic troubleshooting).
• Strong documentation habits and ability to follow and maintain standards.
• Professional customer communication and teamwork mindset.
• U.S. citizenship required to support certain regulated customers and environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned work: deployments, refreshes, upgrades, migrations.
• Provide Tier 2 support as needed with quality, validation, and clean handoff.
• Follow documented standards and change discipline; communicate scope, risks, and dependencies clearly.
• Produce thorough as‑built documentation to support long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate with senior and escalation engineers to ensure early escalation and lessons learned.
• Maintain status updates for customers in clear, plain language.
