Job summary

Saft America, Inc. is seeking a networks-cybersecurity engineer to design and implement network architectures for BESS projects and support commissioning at customer sites. The role involves participating in tender processes, client meetings, and hands-on work with industrial networking hardware.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Systems Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering environment
• Fully fluent in English; French speaking a plus
• Proficient with MS Office (including MS Project), PLM and ERP systems
• Knowledge of Moxa, RedLion and Fortinet FortiGate firewall, Cisco and Hirschmann switches, fiber optics, RJ45 ethernet

Responsibilities

• Defines the network architecture of the BESS installed at the customers' premises as an integrator
• Participates in client led meetings and relevant projects
• Perform work on routers and switches (Moxa, RedLion, Fortinet, Cisco, Hirschmann) and fiber optics
• Define the network architecture
• Interface with internal and external teams (subcontractors) when setting up and configuring networks
• Provide technical and functional expertise on network and cybersecurity elements during implementation
• Study, analyze and recommend viable, cost-optimized BESS network and cybersecurity solutions
• Create template files for configurations based on standard architectures
• Develop and update project documentation (Word/Excel/Visio/PowerPoint)
• Develop BESS network and cybersecurity test procedures and monitor execution

Battery storage projects require a communication network between several pieces of equipment (battery, inverter, SCADA...) as well as remote access. The networks-cybersecurity engineer defines the network architectures and supports their commissioning. They provide support on tenders and operational sites.

Requirements

• BS degree in Systems Engineering preferred, other disciplines considered.
• Min 5 years of experience in systems engineering environment or professional work environment.
• Fully fluent in English. French speaking a plus.
• Skilled in MS office (including MS Project), PLM and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Moxa, RedLion and Firewall Fortinet, Cisco and Hirschmann switches, fiber optics, Rj45 ethernet

• Develops BESS network and cybersecurity test procedures and monitors their execution
