Job summary

Qualifications

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or related discipline with supporting experience demonstrating electrical controls engineering competencies.
  • A minimum of 10 years Engineering experience.
  • Experience leading Installation & Commissioning of industrial projects in the Power Generation/Energy field. Management of technical team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities for Field Service Engineers, Technicians, and subcontractors for installation and commissioning tasks.
  • Create project commissioning plans for new ESS projects in the Americas region.
  • Develop and maintain ESS I&C standard documentation (scope of work, training, safety requirements).
  • Select, train, and qualify sub-contractors for I&C work with ESS Sourcing.
  • Develop RFQ packages for I&C sub-contractor contracts; liaise with ESS Sourcing and Legal for contracts.
  • Provide field feedback to Quality and Engineering for core improvements.
  • Provide technical support to field personnel and subcontractors.
  • Drive safety-first culture in I&C processes and execution.
  • Collaborate with ESS Quality and Safety Managers.

All About You

The Commissioning Managerwill be responsible for the development of ESS installation and commissioning processes, procedures/work instructions, plans, and coordination with field personnel and third party suppliers of I&C scope of work for Battery Energy Storage installations. Liaise with Saft ESS Sourcing and Project Managers to ensure project commissioning requirements are met on time and within budget. Coordinate with Saft ESS Quality & Safety managers to drive a "safety first" culture throughout the project during the I&C phase. Provide feedback to Quality and Engineering on issues discovered in the field, and support Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action plans to support Continuous Improvement activities.

Requirements
  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or related discipline with supporting experience demonstrating electrical controls engineering competencies. Extensive industrial experience may be considered as an alternative to a bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years Engineering experience
  • A minimum of 10 years engineering experience.Experience leading Installation & Commissioning of industrial projects in the Power Generation/Energy field. Management of technical team.
  • Battery product knowledge.

  • Create project commissioning plans in support of new ESS projects in the Americas region.
  • Develop and maintain ESS I&C standard documentation, such as: scope of work instructions, training, quality & safety requirements, etc.
  • Select, train, and qualify sub-contractors for I&C work scope in collaboration with ESS Sourcing Manager
  • Develop request for quotation packages for sub-contractor I&C contracts. Liaise with ESS Sourcing and Legal teams in developing I&C subcontractor contracts.
  • Provide feedback from field experience to ESS Quality and Engineering teams so trends can be determined, and product improvements can be implemented.
  • Provide technical support to Field Service Technicians, Engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Drive Safety first culture to I&C processes and execution activities.
  • Collaborate with ESS Quality and Safety Managers.
