Job summary

Saft America, Inc. is seeking a world-class Supply Chain leader to build and guide a team across S&OP, procurement, logistics, scheduling and material planning with the aim of delivering digitally enabled ways of working across all supply chain quote to cash activities.

You will travel up to 25% domestically and internationally to drive supplier performance and efficiency. The role requires 8+ years in supply chain with at least 5 years in purchasing management, and a strong background in

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive supply chain experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of purchasing/procurement management experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, defense, automotive, battery, or other complex environments preferred.
  • Proven success in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost reduction programs.
  • Experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Full understanding of FAR/DFAR
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Master's degree (MBA or Supply Chain discipline) preferred.
  • Must be a US citizen or green card holder

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives.

All About You

In this role you will be responsible for building and leading a World Class Supply Chain team, including Sales & Operations Planning, Procurement, Purchasing, Logistics, Scheduling and Material Planning with the aim of delivering class-leading, digitally enabled ways of working across all supply chain quote to cash related activities. The role will lead a team who will look to consistently develop innovative solutions to drive efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, financial savings and supplier performance through the way we operate, enabling delivery of all key targets. You will be a key leader and influencer of change across the Supply Chain function and organization as a whole. In this role, you will travel both domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Requirements

  • S&OP, MRP, and ERP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, NAV, QAD, M3, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
  • Strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
  • Inventory optimization and warehouse management.
  • Supply chain risk management.
  • Financial analysis and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluation.
  • Advanced Excel and data analytics skills.

Planning & Inventory Management

  • Oversee demand forecasting, material planning, and inventory control processes.
  • Optimize inventory levels while maintaining operational readiness.
  • Monitor inventory turns, safety stock levels, and working capital performance.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and finance teams to support operational goals.

Logistics & Distribution

  • Manage transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
  • Improve logistics performance, freight optimization, and transportation costs.
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations.
  • Coordinate import/export activities where applicable.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain, planning, purchasing, and logistics personnel.
  • Establish performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee training and succession planning initiatives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Data driven improvements to Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Implement digital tools and automation opportunities to improve supply chain visibility and efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on productivity, cost reduction, and service improvement.
