Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer to join a diverse team. The role supports Agile development of Windows and cloud-based solutions as a Product Owner and Systems Engineer, defining interfaces, data/workflows, and system architecture for new capabilities.

Responsibilities include writing user stories, performing analyses, and ensuring compliance with processes.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Aeronautical, Electrical, Mathematics or Physics from an ABET accredited university
• 2+ years with a bachelor's OR 0 years with a master's in a related discipline
• 1+ years in systems engineering activities: concept/workflow development, interface analysis, requirements development/management, engineering reports, milestones, design reviews
• 1+ years applying knowledge of electromagnetic theory in RF spectrum, signals processing
• Knowledge of systems engineering design methods: requirements analysis, flow-down, specification derivation, interface control docs
• Experience as a Systems Engineer on an Agile software development effort
• Active DoD Secret clearance investigated within last 5 years; ability to obtain SAP clearance
• Ability to work on-site in Manhattan Beach (CA) or Melbourne (FL)
• Experience leading milestones and engineering design reviews in related roles

Responsibilities

• Perform functional and timeline analyses translating customer requirements into software specs
• Develop and maintain engineering artifacts, drawings, documentation, and reports/CDRLs
• Develop User Stories and Acceptance Criteria for mission planning products
• Collaborate with software team to implement capabilities and meet requirements
• Support UI/UX concepts with customer feedback
• Ensure adherence to engineering processes and standards; mitigate risks
• Translate customer requirements into total system solutions considering schedule and cost
• May travel to other locations
