Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Mission Engineer to perform development of national security space missions and systems-of-systems modeling in a digital engineering environment using MBSE. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to create SysML models, inform decision makers, and support architecture implementation across programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, statistics, or related field.
5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, space systems, national security architectures, and/or MBSE practices and techniques
Experience with MBSE modeling tools and SysML-based models
Experience defining and refining space architectures
Must be able to travel up to 10% and hold U.S. citizenship with eligibility for TS/SCI

Responsibilities

Develop and utilize system models for design and implementation of complex systems and systems-of-systems critical to the warfighter.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop engineering models for informing decision makers and understanding system performance.
Create and maintain SysML-based systems models using MBSE methods and tools.
Support or lead efforts on multiple programs and solicit stakeholder needs for mission engineering and architecture implementation.
Provide mission engineering and MBSE expertise to the engineering team.
