Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland is seeking a dynamic Systems Engineer and Mission Analyst to help design and integrate DoD and Navy C2 systems, applying MBSE and digital engineering to transform concepts into resilient defense capabilities and enable informed decisions for next-generation C2.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, use MBSE and DE tools, perform performance analyses, and communicate results to sponsors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, CS, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive systems engineering in DoD environments (Navy or MDA preferred).
  • Experience with DoDAF, SysML, and UAF frameworks.
  • Baseline knowledge of a DoD C2 system (Navy or MDA preferred).
  • At least 2 years applying MBSE and digital engineering to guide design and evaluation.
  • Proficiency with MBSE/DE tools such as Cameo, DOORS, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Strong communication and leadership in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Active Secret clearance; eligible for TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

  • Lead systems and digital engineering efforts translating warfighter needs into mission architectures.
  • Contribute as part of the Trusted Agent team delivering unbiased analyses and solutions.
  • Lead MBSE tool usage to design and evaluate architectures and requirements.
  • Apply modeling and simulation to assess sensor, data fusion, comms, and weapons systems.
  • Perform statistical analyses to identify risks and uncertainties.
  • Deliver actionable results to sponsors and stakeholders.
