Systems Engineer III
Remote-Centric Hybrid
Position Summary
Systems Engineer III is a senior engineer with high levels of technical knowledge. They are responsible for designing, engineering and architecting complex IT systems. As a senior member of the IT Infrastructure team, they will assist with complex technical escalations and provide training and mentoring to team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Critical Problem Resolution – Lead IT infrastructure support to drive fast mitigation of issues impacting critical workloads and provide timely communication in an enterprise support environment.
- Strategic Project Execution – Own complex migration and integration projects, actively driving them towards resolution while ensuring support and engineering readiness for key milestones.
- Cross Team Engagement – Advocate for technical change by leveraging employee feedback and feature requests to address user pain points and improve IT platform functionality and resiliency.
- Systems Architecture – Utilize broad technical knowledge to architect and design multi‑faceted solutions to complex IT and business problems.
- Technical Advisor and Liaison – Attend meetings with business leaders inside and outside of IT to translate complex technical recommendations into understandable business concepts.
- Align IT security tools, policies and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team.
- Performance and capacity planning – audit, monitor, analyze and reconfigure IT infrastructure for performance improvements and future growth.
- Provide technical assistance with network engineering, cloud engineering, datacenter management, and other technical areas.
- Communicate effectively to business and technical groups within the company and at surgery centers.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT infrastructure, guiding other team members on documentation processes and standards.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance during non‑peak (or non‑business) hours when necessary.
- Participate in IT support escalations from other members of the IT operations team, including on‑call rotations.
- Participate in IT meetings and planning sessions, providing input and feedback around IT strategy.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of demonstrated IT experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise‑level, mission‑critical applications, resolving highly complex issues/situations and driving technical resolution across cross‑functional organizations.
- Prior experience working in and supporting an on‑premises Microsoft environment, and experience transitioning systems, applications and workloads to cloud platforms.
- Expert level knowledge of Microsoft products and services: Windows Server, SQL, Active Directory, SCCM, Office 365, Azure AD, SharePoint, and Intune.
- Expert level knowledge of datacenter infrastructure, including server hardware, virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), SANs, network architecture, backup administration, DR planning, and related technologies.
- Identity and Authentication: SSO/Federation, AD/Azure AD, ADFS, Okta, etc.
- Experience with a broad range of security solutions including AV, MDR, SOC, Web Filtering, etc.
- Healthcare IT experience preferred.
- Amazon Web Services experience preferred but not required.
- Technical certification(s) in Microsoft, VMware, or other relevant areas preferred.
- Strong desire for personal development and learning.
Education / Experience
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four‑year college with an emphasis on a technical discipline, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in IT systems administration functions is required.

Paid Time Off
