Job summary

VTG in Aurora, Colorado is seeking a System Engineer II to translate mission needs into system requirements and engineering products, coordinating across stakeholders to ensure verifiable, traceable solutions. Qualifications

• 5-9+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or related field.
• Experience with requirements management and development of engineering documentation.
• Experience with structured delivery environments (Agile, iterative, or traditional lifecycles).
• TS/SCI with Poly Required.
• Preferred qualifications: MBSE/SysML and/or architecture frameworks (DoDAF).

Responsibilities

• Lead/support requirements development, decomposition, and management; maintain end-to-end traceability from mission needs through verification.
• Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts (e.g., system specs, interface documentation, architecture views, technical baselines).
• Support integration planning and coordination across engineering disciplines (software, network, cyber, cloud, test).
• Contribute to technical reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR or equivalent), including preparing materials and closing review actions.
• Support verification planning and test readiness activities; ensure requirements are measurable and testable.
• Identify technical risks/issues and propose mitigations; support configuration and change control processes.
