Job summary

Vosper Thornycroft Group in Chantilly, VA seeks a System Engineer II to translate mission needs into system requirements and engineering products with limited supervision. You will lead requirements development, maintain end-to-end traceability, and develop system artifacts while coordinating across software, network, cyber, cloud, and test disciplines.

A TS/SCI with Poly is required, with 5–9+ years of relevant experience, and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 5–9+ years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience with requirements management and engineering documentation.
• Experience in structured delivery environments (Agile, iterative, or traditional lifecycles).
• Prior support to U.S. Government programs (DoD/Federal/Civil) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support requirements development, decomposition, and management with end-to-end traceability.
• Develop and maintain system engineering artifacts (system specs, interface docs, architecture views, baselines).
• Support integration planning and coordination across engineering disciplines (software, network, cyber, cloud, test).
• Contribute to technical reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR) including materials and closing review actions.
• Support verification planning and test readiness; ensure requirements are measurable and testable.
• Identify technical risks/issues and propose mitigations; support configuration and change control.
