Job summary

VTG in Chantilly, VA seeks a System Engineer III to translate mission needs into system requirements and drive engineering across lifecycle.

You will coordinate across stakeholders, lead trade studies, enforce traceability, and mentor junior engineers while delivering verifiable, high-quality engineering products.

A TS/SCI with Poly is required; a Bachelor's in Engineering or related field is required with Masters preferred; pay range $135k-$185k annually.

Qualifications

• MBSE/SysML and DoDAF architecture proficiency required.
• 10+ years of systems engineering experience on complex integrated systems.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering across lifecycle: requirements strategy, architecture, interfaces, integration, verification, and baseline management.
• Own/develop key systems engineering products: system requirements, interface control documentation, architecture packages, technical plans.
• Drive cross-functional technical integration across software, infrastructure, cyber, data, and test.
• Lead technical reviews and decision forums; develop and evaluate trade studies.
• Establish and enforce requirements quality standards and manage change impacts.
• Mentor junior/mid engineers and implement engineering best practices.
• Provide technical input for program reporting, risk management, and customer briefings.
