Job summary

KBR, Inc is seeking a Systems Engineer III / Simulation Integration Support in Beavercreek, OH to support the horizontal integration of USAF open architecture programs and autonomy projects. You will drive development, simulation, maturation, and coordination of open architecture capabilities, ensuring alignment across systems and enhanced mission effectiveness.

The role requires 5+ years in autonomy/robotics domains, DoD program exposure, and strong container/tooling experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in autonomy development, autonomous systems integration, AI/ML systems, robotics, or advanced mission systems
  • Experience with DoD acquisition or military aviation programs
  • Familiarity with requirements management software (GitLab, Artifactory, Nexus), Test Management, and Defect Tracking (JIRA)
  • Hands‑on experience with container technologies, including Docker and Podman, for building, running, and troubleshooting containerized applications
  • Familiarity in systems engineering processes (requirements, integration, verification, validation)
  • Exposure to Modeling & Simulation concepts & Standards (e.g., JSE Framework)
  • An active Secret clearance is required

Responsibilities

  • Support simulation-related analysis, requirements development, and systems engineering activities
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams within AF/LCMC engineering, user communities, and external autonomy experts
  • Support integration plans, interface definition, verification strategies, and test approaches for autonomous systems
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including operators, engineers, and acquisition professionals
  • Execute simulations to evaluate system effectiveness or suitability under relevant operational conditions and scenarios
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for leadership
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Maintain a willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers’ requirements and needs
