Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Systems Engineer II for its Bureau of IT Infrastructure & Operations in Richland County. This in-office role focuses on design, deployment, and ongoing improvement of enterprise infrastructure, with emphasis on SCCM/MECM, Intune, and security alignment.

You will mentor staff and drive infrastructure initiatives. Responsibilities include OS deployment, patch cycles, configuration baselines, and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, deployment, and maintenance.
• Experience with SCCM/MECM and Intune co-management.

Responsibilities

• Lead SCCM/MECM deployment, patching, and baseline configuration.
• Review vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation with stakeholders.
• Act as escalation point for SCCM/MECM and server incidents.
• Use VROPs and other tools to monitor performance and health.
• Maintain technical docs and runbooks for IT infrastructure.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to strategic initiatives.
