Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an IT Manager I to lead Server and Cloud Services Administration, directing IT professionals in planning, development, and support of agency servers and cloud solutions including MS 365 and on‑premises infrastructure.

You will work with executive leaders to deploy secure, scalable services, manage identity andhybrid integration, and ensure data protection and operational resilience across the agency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, business, math, or related field; experience can substitute year-for-year.
• Experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology.
• Ability to oversee security policies and IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage Server and Cloud Services Administration staff and IT operations.
• Oversee MS365 platform, Azure AD, Defender, and related cloud apps.
• Administer on-premises infrastructure (AD, DNS, DHCP, file/print, SCCM, Windows Server).
• Partner with leadership to develop secure, scalable, and resilient solutions.
• Monitor hosted environment with DTO standards and cost controls.
• Ensure data security and PII protection; oversee backups and DR.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in communications, business administration, information technology, mathematics, statistics, MIS or related field
