Job summary

Ursa Major seeks a Systems Engineer II to verify propulsion systems meet customer needs. You will develop requirements, align with design teams and customers, and plan verification and qualification with emphasis on MBSE and traceability.

You will work cross-functionally on solid rocket motors and propulsion projects, collaborating to ensure compliance, risk management, and model-based approaches across programs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience applying aerospace systems engineering processes including design reviews and verification.
• Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Jama.
• Experience with MBSE and Cameo.
• Ability to interpret and influence engineering drawings, specifications, system requirements and test data.
• Strong organizational skills and stakeholder relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Support the leads of major programs in defining, validating, and maintaining requirements.
• Build system-level qualification plans for SRMs.
• Track requirement verification status through development and qualification.
• Review test and analysis plans to confirm requirements are met.
• Support system-level risk analysis and mitigation; own risks to closure.
• Establish traceability between engineering deliverables and cross-functional teams.
• Develop MBSE models of SRM systems and MBSE methodologies for the team.
• Communicate with management and customers on requirement compliance at reviews.
• Integrate internal MBSE models into customer models and frameworks.
• Create, manage, and train system engineering tools and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
