Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a skilled systems engineer to own requirements development, verification, and validation for spacecraft propulsion. You will work across system architecture, analysis, and test teams to ensure robust design from concept to production readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in aerospace system design, project management or related system-level roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Systems or Mechanical Engineering (or related technical field).
• Experience applying aerospace systems engineering processes – design reviews, requirements verification and validation, failure and risk assessments.
• Demonstrated organization skills.
• Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive work environment.
• Ability to earn trust and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Define, verify, and manage system requirements for spacecraft propulsion or related systems.
• Create and maintain system engineering tools and processes.
• Coordinate with analysis to plan verification activities and ensure requirement coverage.
• Coordinate with test teams for verification and validation plans.
• Support test campaigns to ensure requirement coverage and compliance.
• Contribute to program reviews and design reviews throughout lifecycles.
• Assist with reliability, failure modes, and risk assessments for major programs.
• Provide guidance to Systems Engineering team members to advance proficiency.
• Serve as primary engineering contact with mission assurance to address risks and opportunities.
• Work with system designers to ensure compliance with range safety requirements and standards.
