Job summary

The Allen Institute is seeking a Systems Engineer II, Enterprise Systems to join the Enterprise IT Infrastructure Team. You will design, deploy, and support Windows-based enterprise services that power our research and operations.

You will manage 40+ servers for 925 staff, enable single sign-on with MFA, and deepen Google Workspace/GCP expertise while maintaining knowledge of Microsoft 365/Azure. A bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in Windows administration are required, with strong collaboration

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of degree and experience.
At least three years of professional Windows system administration experience.
Hands-on experience administering enterprise collaboration and cloud platforms such as Google Workspace and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Practical experience managing production cloud services, with strength in Google Workspace and GCP and familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Familiarity with system management frameworks such as MDT, WSUS, SCCM, and Intune.

Responsibilities

Manage a Windows-based enterprise environment with over 40 servers supporting over 925 staff members.
Design, deploy, and upgrade IT infrastructure products and services supporting scientific and administrative business operations.
Engage in hardware and software lifecycle management.
Manage patch deployment and troubleshooting on workstations and servers.
Participate in the development of system standards, policies, and procedures.
Manage enterprise cybersecurity software agents and monitoring systems.
Enable single sign-on with multifactor authentication using Azure AD for on-prem and SaaS applications.
