Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a Systems Engineer to provision, install, configure, operate and maintain compute and storage environments. You will lead technical efforts, coordinate deployments, and ensure data protection and disaster recovery capabilities are in place.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 4 years of Systems Engineering experience. A Texas driver’s license and ability to pass background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Four (4) years of experience in Systems Engineering maintaining compute/storage systems.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License and good driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks for access to criminal justice databases.

Responsibilities

• Installs, configures, maintains, and operates hardware and software to manage compute/storage environments.
• Troubleshoots problems and coordinates with vendors to resolve issues.
• Serves as technical lead on projects, gathering requirements and guiding solutions.
• Maintains Data Center operations, including power, cabling, and DR/backup solutions.
• Researches emerging technologies and tests new solutions for future readiness.
